Alex C. Varghese
MSc., PhD
Alex C. Varghese is the Scientific Director at Astra Fertility group, Mississauga, Canada and Laboratory Director at CRAFT IVF, Kerala. His area of interest is in developing automated systems for IVF. Published more than 20 research articles in peer reviewed journals indexed in Pubmed with more than 1360 citations, RG Score of 32.66 and h index of 14. He has edited Nine books in assisted reproductive technologies He believes in “responsible reproduction” through ethical practices, low-cost IVF for the masses, quality management, and safe practices that safe- guard the health of IVF children. He was an executive committee member of special group in Andrology of Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and Past President of Academy of Clinical embryologists-India.
Kanna Jayaprakasan
MD, DNB, FRCOG, PhD
Kanna Jayaprakasan is a Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, working as Fertility Unit lead at Royal Derby Hospital, Derby, UK, IVF consultant at CARE Fertility, Nottingham and as honorary Associate Professor at University of Nottingham, UK. He obtained MBBS from the University of Calicut, India in 1994; MD from the University of Pune, India in 1998 and MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, UK in 2002. He was awarded PhD in 2009 by the University of Nottingham, UK for his work related to standardizing the methods of ovarian reserve assessment with particular focus on 3D ultrasound markers. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers on fertility and ultrasound topics and has edited four textbooks including “Tips and tricks in gynaecological ultrasound” (Cambridge University Press), Ultrasound in Subfertility – Routine applications & Diagnostic challenges” and “Clinical management of pregnancies following ART”. He served in the UK’s NICE fertility guideline committee (2016) as topic expert member, expert adviser for NICE centre for guidelines, member of RCOG's scientific advisory committee, member of RCOG’s Quality Assurance Committee and StratOG module editor and is now Associate Editor of RCOG’s journal “The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist” (TOG). He has been the principal investigator/ co-investigator for various randomised trials (Eg:LOCI, DITTO, PIP, PROMISE, TABLET). He is a teaching faculty for various RCOG/ BFS courses on fertility & ultrasound and ‘MMedSci in ART’ course of University of Nottingham.
